Artist Statement:
Through utilizing traditional and modern artistic techniques,
my interest is to create works that combine the old and new. My work is a combination of both digital, and drawing, within the two dimensional realm. Utilizing illustration and printmaking, along with digital programs such as illustrator and Photoshop, my interest is to create artwork that is pleasingly dichotomic. Through serendipity, and sometimes extensive planning, my body of work is one that is based on unplanned tinkering and abstraction complemented by methodically designed illustrations and compositions. Usually these endeavors bring about visually abstracted images that are a combination of hard, dark colors balanced with bright hues and elements of collage.
